The William Leonard Public Library District – the only library in the district – is located in the
Village of Robbins in South Suburban Cook County. The library serves more than 5000
individuals annually, mostly lower-income African-Americans. Unfortunately, at a time when
the library is experiencing record demands for service, public funding for those same services has been drastically reduced! Property taxes collected in FY2015-2016 were only 60% of the anticipated amount due, which gave us more than a $150,000 short fall.
Because additional funding was not received, the library has been forced to borrow funds by the end of July. WE NEED YOUR HELP! That is why we are inviting you to support the library’s programs by supporting us. No amount is too small. Please feel free to mail or drop off your donation at anytime. Checks or money orders can be made payable to: The Friends of the William Leonard Public Library District.
For your tax-deductible donation, you will receive satisfaction in knowing that you were a part of this great community effort and that you have done our community a tremendous service by helping to keep us offering much needed programs and services!
If you have any questions, or require additional information, we can be reached at 708-597-2760.
